Domino Cookies

Recipies:


3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 eggwhite
1-1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar

Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
Prepare baking sheets
2. In a bowl, cream together the shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
3. Stiff together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt, Add to the cream mixture. Blend well.
4. Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of wax paper to 1/4 inch thick.
5. Using a knife, cut the dough into small rectangles measuring 2 1/2" x 1 1/4".
6. Transfer to the baking sheets and bake for 6-8 minutes.
7. Cool on a wire rack.
8. In a Separate bowl beat the eggwhite until foamy then add the sugar. Transfer to a piping bag.
9. To make the Dominoes: Pipe out a straight line horizontally at the center, Pipe out small dots above and below the line to indicate number.

Tips
Make this recipe a part of fun-filled birthday parties. Group the kids and provide then with the baked cookies and icing in piping bags. Let then finish off their dominoes before connecting them together. The group that finishes first using all of the dominoes wins.

Butter Cookies

Recipies:


1 cup butter
1/3 cap sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla

Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
Prepare 2 baking sheets.
2. In a bowl, cream butter until smooth and flurry. Gradually add in sugar in beat until light. Add in flour and vanilla.
3. Transfer to a piping bag with a star tip then pipe out into strips, circles or others figures.
4. Bake for 10 minutes then or until golden brown. Cool.
5. Dust with confectioner's sugar if desired.

Tips
For elegant after dinner dessert, dip the ends of the baked butter cookies in melted semi-sweet chocolate and dust with some confectioner's sugar.
